Top 10 Real Estate Companies in the UK 2026

From Landsec and British Land to Barratt Redrow and Savills, here are the top 10 real estate companies in the UK for 2026, with their latest portfolio values, completions and results.

Top 10 Real Estate Companies in uk

UK property made some big moves in 2026. Prologis agreed to acquire SEGRO, the country’s biggest logistics landlord, in a deal worth around £14bn. Barratt Redrow delivered 17,667 homes in its latest financial year. Savills acquired a US investment bank. And London office landlords saw their best leasing numbers in years.

Behind the headlines, there are several types of real estate companies. Listed landlords such as Landsec and British Land own the offices, shopping destinations and retail parks that businesses rent. Housebuilders such as Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey turn land into new homes. Agents such as Savills and Knight Frank help people buy, sell, let, value and manage property. And a newer group, led by Grainger, specializes in owning whole buildings of rental homes.

Each type serves a different kind of client. A tenant looking for a London headquarters needs something very different from a first-time buyer or a pension fund. So when we built our list of the top 10 real estate companies in the UK, we included a mix of landlords, builders and advisers instead of ranking them on one number.

We looked at each company’s most recent results and 2026 announcements. This guide covers the top 10 real estate companies in the UK for 2026, what they own or build, and who they suit best.

Why the UK’s Leading Real Estate Companies Matter

They Shape Where People Work and Shop

Listed landlords own many of the UK’s best office buildings, shopping centers and retail parks. Their choices on what to build, refurbish or sell decide what space is available to businesses in London and across the regions.

They Supply Most of the New Homes

The big housebuilders deliver tens of thousands of homes a year between them. Their output, pricing and build quality have a direct effect on buyers, lenders and local councils.

They Set the Benchmarks for Value

Agents such as Savills and Knight Frank value, sell and let property for investors, banks and occupiers. Many institutions rely on their research and transaction data to agree on prices.

They Are Easy to Check

Many of the top 10 real estate companies in the UK are listed on the London Stock Exchange. That means their portfolio values, completions and profits are published and audited, so you can judge them on facts.

How to Choose the Right Real Estate Partner

Start With What You Need

Landlords, housebuilders and advisers solve very different problems. Decide first whether you want to rent space, buy a home, invest or get advice on a sale.

Check the Latest Results

Listed companies publish occupancy, completions and profits twice a year. Use these figures to see whether a business is growing, holding steady or cutting back. Most of the top 10 real estate companies in the UK report this way.

Look at Location Strength

Some firms are strongest in central London, others in the regions. Berkeley focuses on London and the South-East, while housebuilders such as Persimmon and Barratt Redrow build homes across the country.

Ask About Build Quality and Service

For homebuyers, customer surveys and NHBC awards show whether a company delivers good service. For tenants, ask existing occupiers whether they would recommend the landlord and how it handles repairs and lease renewals.

Understand Fees and Terms

Each company charges differently to sell your property, let it or provide a valuation. Always get the fees in writing and compare what’s included before you choose.
