We all know about Samsung, as it is one of the most widely known and biggest brands when it comes to buying electronics. This specifically draws attention towards consumer electronics, semiconductors, telecommunications, and digital solutions.

History of Samsung

Samsung was founded in 1969 in Suwon, South Korea and was part of Samsung Group’s expansion into the electronics industry. In its initial days, the company majorly focused on consumer electronics and black-and-white televisions.

The later company expanded to home appliances i.e. refrigerators, washing machines, and microwave ovens. But in the late, 1970’s Samsung also entered the semiconductor industry. 

In between 1980s–and 1990s, Samsung entered the global market and began producing dynamic random-access memory becoming the key player in the semiconductor industry.

It later on merged its semiconductor business with Samsung Electronics to strengthen its position. 

It was in 2000 when Samsung introduced its first feature phone and quickly gained attention. In 2009, the first Samsung Galaxy smartphone was launched and made an entry as a major player.

In 2010, Samsung became the world’s largest smartphone, in 2013 it became the world’s largest TV manufacturer and in 2016 introduced foldable smartphones and prolonged into 5G technology.
