The founder of Asian College of Teachers, Dr. Sanjib Chakraborty, is responsible for bringing ACT this far. His unique vision and innovative ideas have altered the profession of teaching to a great extent. An ardent traveller, Dr. Chakraborty has travelled to over 41 countries while conducting engaging teacher training workshops. His tailor-make professional courses have contributed significantly towards enhancing the teacher training process.
A highly knowledgeable person, Dr. Chakraborty is a PhD in Management Science from the prestigious University of Hertfordshire, UK. He also holds a double post-graduation degree in Business Administration and Education. Also, he has a diploma in Learning & Development, CIPD, UK. He holds the certificate as a trainer from the Singapore Institute of Management. Dr. Chakraborty has also been a lecturer at a reputed University in Bangkok. Presently, he lectures at several international universities in Asia.
JOURNEY SO FAR
From being a corporate training executive in Kolkata to being the founder of Asian College of Teachers, Dr. Sanjib has come along a long way. Initially, he worked in managerial positions and eventually took leadership positions as Director before becoming an entrepreneur.
In 2003, he commenced a new phase of life as an entrepreneur and strategy consultant. His area of expertise has been entrepreneurship and hardcore marketing. He always lays extra emphasis on training and development.
When Dr. Sanjib designs the custom-made courses, he focuses on instructional design, delivery process and adult learning tactics. With his innovative and unique course structures, he has been catering to the needs of individuals as well as organisations.
OBSTACLES AND HINDRANCES
For ACT, the biggest challenge was a lack of awareness among people. Team ACT worked extremely hard to raise awareness regarding the necessity of teacher training. Even today, some aspiring teachers consider theoretical knowledge sufficient for becoming a professional teacher. Asian College of Teachers has worked hard to persuade teachers to invest their time and money in teacher training courses.
