Who was Mahashay Dharampal Gulati?

Mahashay Dharampal Gulati was known as the Indian spice king but as we all know the fact that no one is born with perks.

We all have to work hard for our lives and in turn make things work to complete our dreams. The same was the case that we can say for the Indian spice king (Mahashay Dharampal Gulati).

He was born in 1923 (Sialkot), which is now a part of Pakistan. In the early days, Gulati had a small business of spice.

But when partition happened in 1947, they were forced to travel to Delhi. In turn, they had to leave everything they built up.

However, at some point in time, they thought about how they would survive and everything comes to an end (in front of them). But as we all know when it comes to getting something then we all can- with firm determination and hard work.

Mahashay Dharampal Gulati with no education leaving behind his Indian Spice small business started working as a horse-cart driver to support his family.

But who knew a horse cart driver would slowly and gradually become the king of Indian spice?

Mahashay always had a dream to build his own business (which he was running before partition). But as we stated due to no resources or limits, he was not able to take ahead of it.

So, meanwhile, he started working as a horse cart driver. But this did not let Gulati dream to turned off. He has a continuous thought of running his own business.

So, we can say that the job he took was for some time because he already had entrepreneurship spirit. This in turn caused him to take a small loan and start his own business which he left behind (Indian spice).

At first, he started a small stall in Karol Bagh, Delhi (right from selling to delivery across different areas of Delhi).

After some time, with his extreme service and quality, he started gaining recognition and even gained a loyal clientele. This was the first step to starting his own mdh masala company.

With his complete determination and leadership, he took MDH masala company to the global level. This means he was able to export spices to around 65 countries.

All of this happened because he used the finest ingredients that could deliver the finest taste. In addition, he does have a deep respect towards his employees and even customers.

This led to the rise of mdh masala company, because Gulati understood the needs of various households in food and delivered spice solutions.
