Balancing Priorities: The 5 Pillars of Rania Shamas Visionary Approach to Motherhood and Professionalism

In today’s world, the ability to adapt, effectively manage crises, and understand emotions are increasingly valued in our professional and personal journeys.

Enter Rania Shamas, an individual who masters these skills to effortlessly navigate multiple roles while dealing with the chaos of parenting. Serving as the COO of GCC luxury fashion empire, an Executive Coach and a Strategic Advisor, and Currently CEO for the Top Local Designers of GCC Omni Experience , she showcases how being a mother can cultivate success and resilience.

Rania rocked a tough divorce and handled being a single mom while managing a supervisory job. When her second daughter was born with Down syndrome, it didn’t just make her stronger. It also shaped her dedication to supporting autism awareness and inclusive education in the UAE, highlighting how personal experiences can amplify professional impact.

Joining Sheikh Shama’s Women Empowerment Board and promoting local designers in Dubai’s luxury market with the arrival of her third daughter, Rania illustrates the successful coexistence of two spheres. Fueled by the unique multitasking and adaptive skills developed through motherhood, her narrative is built on five key pillars.

Let’s uncover her balancing act and her recipe for success:

  1. Strategic Planning: As a strategic advisor on culture transformation and vision establishment, Rania meticulously manages her life. Juggling between conflicting priorities and navigating the social and corporate dynamics, she manages her home and work. Planning was one of the most crucial skills that enabled her to live a fulfilling and happy life.
  2. Adaptability: In today’s dynamic world, adaptability is non-negotiable, and Rania’s ability to pivot swiftly between roles and situations exemplifies this. “I took every challenge as an opportunity for growth and every failing step as a path or redirection,” she notes. Emerging from the challenges of a dissolved marriage, Rania showcased adaptability by effectively managing motherhood and her career.
  3. Continuous Learning: Rania was very curious and eager to learn new things, which opened up limitless possibilities for her. Despite raising a toddler as a single parent, she decided to do her MBA program in International Business. Following the loss of her father in 2007, she pursued a Master’s degree in Executive Coaching to continue to grow as a person. Her second daughter, who has Down syndrome, inspired her to study life coaching, parentology, and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).
  4. Sense of Purpose: A sense of purpose often leads to a satisfied life. With 16 years of coaching experience, Rania supports C-suite-level individuals in finding value-driven paths towards fulfillment. “I am driven by purpose and inspiration. It’s a force that connects, grows, and contributes to the world without limits,” she reveals. Similarly, she applies her purposeful approach to her personal life.
  5. Spiritual Connection: Challenges and grief often transform into moments of religious connection. Rania’s philosophy involves experiencing, learning, connecting, growing, and contributing to spiritual connection as fundamental to a balanced life.

In a society that often keeps personal and professional lives separate, it’s hard for women to thrive in both positions. Rania believes her journey from being a single mother to a global leader can inspire other women to navigate dual roles. Her approach invites contemplation on the broader issues surrounding work-life balance for women.
